What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Nagaland is undertaking the first avian documentation exercise called <\/span>Tokh\u00fc Emong Bird Count(TEBC).<\/span><\/p>\n

This exercise aims to go beyond the documentation of Amur falcons, the migratory raptor that put the State on the world birding map.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is <\/b>Tokh\u00fc Emong Bird Count(TEBC)?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Tokh\u00fc Emong Bird Count(TEBC) is Nagaland\u2019s first bird documentation event to celebrate the birds of the state.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Organized by:<\/b> Wokha Forest Division and the Divisional Management Unit, Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), Wokha, Nagaland and Bird Count India.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event has been timed with the post-harvest<\/span> Tokh\u00fc Emong festival of the Lotha Nagas<\/b> to spread awareness about the State\u2019s avian diversity<\/span><\/p>\n

The event falls within the <\/span>Salim Ali Bird Count,<\/b> a nationwide event conducted by the Bombay Natural History Society.<\/span><\/p>\n

The basic activity during this event <\/b>is to go outdoors on any or all days from November 4-7\u00a0<\/span>from anywhere in Nagaland, spend at least 15 minutes watching birds and upload your bird list to <\/span>eBird<\/span><\/i>, the bird recording platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the significance of this event?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Nagaland is a State with diverse festivals and diverse birdlife. The TEBC is the first of initiatives where the community is encouraged to celebrate the festival with birds.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
