Hyderabad-based space firm Skyroot Aerospace is going to launch <\/span>Vikram-S, <\/b>India’s first privately manufactured rocket. It is being launched as part of Skyroot Aerospace’s first mission <\/span>“Prarambh\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

What is Vikram-S?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Vikram-S is <\/span>India’s first privately manufactured rocket <\/span>being developed by Skyroot Aerospace, a Hyderabad-based startup in the aerospace business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose:<\/b> It is a single-stage <\/span>sub-orbital launch vehicle<\/b> that will carry three client payloads and assist test and verifying most of the technology in the Vikram family of space launch vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Note: <\/b>Sub-orbital flight are those vehicles which are travelling slower than the orbital velocity \u2013 meaning it is fast enough to reach outer space but not fast enough to stay in an orbit around the Earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Features:<\/b> Skyroot is designing three Vikram rockets that will use various solid and cryogenic fuels to carry between 290 kg and 560 kg payloads to sun-synchronous polar orbits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rocket manufacturing startup, Agnikul Cosmos has tested its <\/span>semi-cryogenic Agnilet engine<\/b> for 15 seconds at ISRO\u2019s vertical testing facility at Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS), Thiruvananthapuram.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
