{"id":213665,"date":"2022-11-09T19:06:53","date_gmt":"2022-11-09T13:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=213665"},"modified":"2022-12-08T13:40:54","modified_gmt":"2022-12-08T08:10:54","slug":"mathura-vrindavan-aims-to-become-a-carbon-neutral-tourist-destination-by-2041","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/mathura-vrindavan-aims-to-become-a-carbon-neutral-tourist-destination-by-2041\/","title":{"rendered":"Mathura-Vrindavan aims to become a carbon neutral tourist destination by 2041"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201cMathura-Vrindavan aims to become a carbon neutral tourist destination by 2041\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in <\/span><b>PIB on 8th November 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government of Uttar Pradesh has announced that Mathura-Vrindavan is aiming to become a \u201cnet zero carbon emission\u201d tourist destination by 2041.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be the first such <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/time-to-set-ourselves-a-carbon-neutrality-goal\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">carbon neutral <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">master plan for a tourist destination in India.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is Net Zero Carbon Emission?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">means cutting greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible, with any remaining emissions re-absorbed from the atmosphere, by oceans and forests for instance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the plan for Mathura-Vrindavan to make it a net zero carbon emission?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tourist vehicles will be banned from the entire Braj region, which includes famous pilgrim centres such as Vrindavan and Krishna Janmabhoomi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only electric vehicles used as public transport will be allowed into the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 252 water bodies and 24 forests in the area will also be revived.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The entire region will be divided into four clusters each containing two of the eight key cities. The idea is to form small circuits called \u2018Parikrama Paths\u2019 which the pilgrim can undertake either on foot or using electric vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the importance of Mathura region?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathura is an active center of Brahmanism, Buddhism and Jainism for several decades in Uttar Pradesh.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are some cultural traditions in Mathura like the Sanjhee, which is the colorful art of decorating the ground with flowers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raaslila is another predominant form of Mathura culture.
