What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n

The third edition of the \u2018Pan-India\u2019 Coastal Defence Exercise \u2018Sea Vigil-22\u2019 will be conducted.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Exercise Sea Vigil?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Exercise Sea Vigil is a <\/span>Coastal Defence Exercise<\/b> conceptualized in 2018 to validate various measures that have been instituted towards enhancing maritime security since \u201826\/11\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The exercise will be undertaken <\/b>along the entire 7516 km coastline and Exclusive Economic Zone of India. <\/span><\/p>\n

Participators<\/strong>: All the Coastal States and Union territories along with other maritime stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n

Objective:<\/b> To provide a realistic assessment of India’s strengths and weaknesses and thus will help in further strengthening Maritime and National Security.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conducted by<\/b>: Indian Navy in coordination with the Coast Guard and other ministries entrusted with the task of maritime activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Significance:<\/b> The exercise is a build-up towards the major <\/span>Theatre Level Readiness Operational Exercise (TROPEX<\/i><\/a>)<\/strong>, <\/b>which the Indian Navy conducts every two years. <\/span><\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: Sea Vigil<\/span> and TROPEX together will cover the entire spectrum of Maritime Security challenges. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
