Pangong Tso Lake has been an area of constant friction between India and China for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n

India holds about one-third of the 135-km-long lake while the rest is under China\u2019s control.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lake has mountain spurs of the Chang Chenmo range jutting down referred to as \u2018fingers\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

India and China have a different understandings of where the Line of Actual Control(LAC) passes through.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

India has maintained that the LAC passes through Finger 8, which has been the site of the final military post of China. But Indian forces have not had active control beyond Finger 4.<\/span><\/p>\n
