India\u2019s first privately developed rocket, <\/span>Vikram-S <\/b>was successfully launched <\/span>from Indian Space Research Organisation\u2019s(ISRO) launchpad in Sriharikota.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Vikram S?<\/b><\/p>\n

Vikram S has been developed by<\/span> Skyroot Aerospace<\/b> and has been named after Vikram Sarabhai hailed as the father of India’s space sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The rocket has been launched under the mission named ‘<\/span>Prarambh<\/i><\/b>‘<\/b>, which literally translates as \u201cbeginning\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose: <\/b>It was<\/span> a technology demonstration flight to showcase the capabilities of the company. The rocket will help validate the technologies that will be used in the subsequent Vikram-1 orbital vehicle of Skyroot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Key Features of Vikram-S<\/b>: Vikram-S is powered by the solid-fuelled propulsion, cutting edge avionics and all carbon fibre core structure.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 It is one of the world’s first few all composite space launch vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Vikram-S has 3D printed solid thrusters for spin stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 <\/span>Vikram-S is capable of reaching Mach 5, five times the speed of sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The vehicle is equipped with telemetry, tracking, GPS, on-board camera, data acquisition and power systems.<\/span><\/p>\n
