The report listed <\/span>Regenerative Agriculture <\/b>as a \u2018<\/span>sustainable land management practice<\/b>\u2019 focused on ecological functions that \u201ccan be effective in building resilience of agroecosystems.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Regenerative Agriculture?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Regenerative agriculture is a holistic farming system<\/span> that focuses on soil health, food quality, biodiversity improvement, water quality and air quality. This is done through methods like reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, reducing tillage, integrating livestock and using cover crops.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Principles:<\/b> Regenerative agriculture adheres to the following principles:<\/span> 1) <\/b>Minimize soil distribution through conservation tillage, <\/span>2) <\/b>Diversify crops to replenish nutrients and disrupt pest and disease life cycles, <\/span>3) <\/b>Retain soil cover using cover crops and <\/span>4) <\/b>Integrate livestock, which adds manure to the soil and serves as a source of carbon sinks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the need of Regenerative agriculture?<\/b><\/h5>\n

The current intensive agriculture system has led to soil degradation and constant losses. There may not be enough soil to feed the world in the next 50 years. Soil fertility and biodiversity are also decreasing across the globe.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the benefits of Regenerative agriculture?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Regenerative farming can improve crop yields<\/strong> \u2013 the volume of crops produced \u2013 by improving the health of soil and its ability to retain water, as well as reducing soil erosion<\/strong>. Improved yields will help feed the world as the global population grows.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regenerative farming can also reduce emissions from agriculture<\/strong> and turn the croplands and pastures, which cover up to 40% of Earth\u2019s ice-free land area, into carbon sinks.<\/span><\/p>\n
