The demand for their inclusion dates to before 1965 and even the <strong>Lokur Committee<\/strong> had in its report of that year recommended its inclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Himachal Pradesh: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has proposed granting tribal status to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/explained-who-are-the-hattis-of-himachal-pradesh-and-why-do-they-want-st-status\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hatti community <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">living in the Trans-Giri region of Himachal Pradesh.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Karnataka: <\/b>Include\u00a0Betta-Kuruba as a synonym for the already categorised Kadu kuruba in the ST list of Karnataka.<\/p>\n<p><b>Chhattisgarh:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The bill seeks to add a number of synonyms in Devnagri script for the already categorized Bhariya Bhumia tribe in the ST list of Chhattisgarh.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8212; As per the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, they are all part of the same tribe but had been kept out of the list just because they are pronounced and spelt their names differently.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cCentre introduces Bills to modify ST list in four States\u201d published in The Hindu on 10th December 2022 What is the News?
