There is a <strong>complete mismatch<\/strong> between the overflow of job aspirants seeking medical or technical education and real opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>For the aspiring middle class this sort of education seems to be the only capital for <strong>upward social mobility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There is <strong>scarcity of jobs<\/strong> for those who seek to pursue liberal arts and social sciences.<\/p>\n<p>There exists a <strong>nexus<\/strong> between the education mafia and the political class. It taps this anxiety and existential insecurity for spreading the chains of coaching centres and Ed-Tech companies is a big issue.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is the way forward to reduce dependence on coaching?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Improvement in education<\/strong>&#8211; Teachers of educational institutes must regain our <strong>agency<\/strong>. They need to articulate <strong>critical and life-affirming voices<\/strong> through our innovative <strong>pedagogical practices<\/strong>, and open the windows of consciousness of young students.<\/p>\n<p>Schools must assert their confidence through a vibrant culture of <strong>engaged pedagogy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There is a need to question the supremacy of this <strong>life-killing standardised tests<\/strong> that serve the purpose of<strong> eliminating<\/strong> people rather than finding genuinely inclined students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parents responsibility<\/strong>&#8211; Parents also need some <strong>introspection<\/strong>. They should not interfere or impose their authority on children.<\/p>\n<p>They must realise that\u00a0 children are not investments \u2014 a raw material transformed into a <strong>polished product<\/strong> with placement offers.
