Haphazard development of software for the exercise, made it prone to data tampering.<\/p>\n<p>Undue profits worth crores amassed by the system integrator (SI) by violating the Minimum Wages Act.<\/p>\n<p>Test check of records revealed irregularities in the utilisation of funds including \u201cexcess and inadmissible payment to vendors\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Amount of wages paid to the outsourced staff was 45.59%-64.27% less than what was approved by the NRC coordination committee.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Recommendations made by CAG report<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>First, penal measures to be taken against Wipro Limited for violating the provisions of the Minimum Wages Act and for paying data operators less than minimum wages.<\/p>\n<p>Action against the State Coordinator of National Registration (SCNR) for \u201cexcess, irregular and inadmissible payments\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fixing accountability of the SCNR as the principal employer<\/strong> for \u201cnot ensuring compliance with the Minimum Wage Act\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: This post is created based on the article \u201cWhat is the CAG audit report on Assam\u2019s NRC?\u201d published in The Hindu on 28th December 2022.
