In Sundarbans, a new shrimp farming initiative named \u201cSAIME Initiative\u201d offers hope for mangrove restoration.<\/span><\/p>\n Sustainable Aquaculture In Mangrove Ecosystem(SAIME) initiative was started in 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It is a community-based initiative for sustainable shrimp cultivation.<\/span><\/p>\n The initiative was conceived by NGOs- Nature Environment and Wildlife Society (NEWS) and Global Nature Fund (GNF), Naturland, Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS).<\/span><\/p>\n Under the initiative, farmers have taken up the cultivation of shrimp at 30 hectares in West Bengal.
