This process offers a promising carbon-neutral and sustainable strategy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, this process is largely limited due to the poor solubility of nitrogen (N<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) in the aqueous electrolyte environment as well as the competitive hydrogen evolution reaction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the past, most efforts to overcome these issues have focused on catalyst development, while little attention has been given to improving electrolytes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What have the scientists developed to overcome this obstacle?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scientists have introduced a new electrolyte called (<strong>NaBF<\/strong><\/span><strong>4<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) which not only acts as an N<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-carrier in the medium but also works as a full-fledged \u201cco-catalyst\u201d along with active material transition metal-doped nanocarbon (MnN<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) to deliver a high yield of ammonia (NH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) at absolutely ambient experimental conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This approach has resulted in an NH3 production rate that approaches an industrial scale and surpasses many standard catalysts in other electrolyte media.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cNew electrolyte found can help better ammonia synthesis\u201d published in PIB on 5th January 2023 What is the News?
