What is the News?<\/b><\/p>\n

SPIC MACAY has organized its very popular ‘Music in the Park’ series this year under the name \u201cShruti Amrut\u201din collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the New Delhi Municipal Council.The beauty of Indian Classical Music was showcased\u00a0 by eminent artists from across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is SPIC MACAY?<\/b><\/p>\n

Full Form: <\/b>Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY).<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in:<\/b> It <\/span>is a non-political, nationwide, voluntary movement founded in 1977 by <\/span>Dr. Kiran Seth<\/span><\/i>, Professor-Emeritus at IIT-Delhi who was awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ for his contribution to the arts in 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mandate: <\/b>To promote the tangible & intangible aspects of Indian & world heritage by organizing programs and workshops on Indian Classical, Folk Music and dance, Yoga, meditation, crafts, and other aspects of Indian culture.<\/span><\/p>\n
