It is a reference that contains genetic material from a cohort of diverse individuals, rather than just a single linear strand.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>How does <\/b><b>Pantranscriptome work?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pantranscriptome-concept builds on the emerging concept of \u201cpangenomics\u201d in the genomics field.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Typically, when evaluating an individual\u2019s genomic data for variation, scientists compare the individual\u2019s genome to that of a reference made up of a single, linear strand of DNA bases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a pangenome allows researchers to compare an individual\u2019s genome to that of a genetically diverse cohort of reference sequences all at once, sourced from individuals representing a diversity of biogeographic ancestry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This gives the scientists more points of comparison for which to better understand an individual\u2019s genomic variation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is <\/b><b>Transcriptome?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transcriptome represents all the RNA molecules present in a species or in an organism.
