{"id":226360,"date":"2023-02-13T19:50:05","date_gmt":"2023-02-13T14:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=226360"},"modified":"2023-02-22T10:46:53","modified_gmt":"2023-02-22T05:16:53","slug":"centre-proposes-hefty-hike-in-charges-at-small-airports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/centre-proposes-hefty-hike-in-charges-at-small-airports\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre proposes hefty hike in charges at small airports"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201cCentre proposes hefty hike in charges at small airports\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published in<\/span><b> Livemint <\/b>on <b>13th February 2023.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Civil Aviation has proposed to hike the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">parking and user development fees at small airports.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What has the Ministry of Civil Aviation proposed for non-major airports?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Civil Aviation has proposed a hike in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">parking and user development fees at non-major airports (those with less than 3.5 million passengers per annum).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has created three non-major airports sub-categories based on passengers\u2014cluster 1 with passengers above 1 million per annum, cluster 2 with passengers between 100,000 and 1 million per annum and cluster 3 with passengers less than 100,000 per annum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ministry has suggested a 30% increase in landing and parking charges at the first two clusters while these charges are to remain the same for the third category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The user development fee or UDF which is charged to bridge the revenue shortfall at airports, has been proposed to be increased by \u20b9500 per passenger for the first two categories from \u20b9175 now and no increase has been proposed for the third category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Note<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: These rates will also be applicable for airports made operational under the government\u2019s flagship Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik(UDAN) airports after three years of the scheme\u2014airlines are offered discounts on airport charges for a duration of three years.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cCentre proposes hefty hike in charges at small airports\u201d published in Livemint on 13th February 2023.
