What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

India, Brazil and the US as leading biofuel producers and consumers will work towards establishing <\/span>Global Biofuels Alliance.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Global Biofuels Alliance?<\/b><\/h2>\n

To be established by: <\/b>India, Brazil and US<\/span><\/p>\n

Aim:<\/b> To facilitate <\/span>cooperation and intensify the use of sustainable biofuels, including in the transportation sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The alliance will place emphasis on strengthening markets, facilitating global biofuels trade, development of concrete policy lesson-sharing and provision of technical support for national biofuels programs worldwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 It will also emphasize the already implemented best practices and success cases.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Alliance shall work in collaboration <\/b>with and complement the relevant existing regional and international agencies as well as initiatives in the bioenergy, bioeconomy, and energy transition fields more broadly including the <\/span>Clean Energy Ministerial <\/span><\/a>Biofuture Platform, the Mission Innovation Bioenergy initiatives and Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP).<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Global Bioenergy Partnership(GBEP)?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Founded in<\/b>: 2006\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose:<\/b> GBEP brings together public, private and civil society stakeholders in a joint commitment to promote bioenergy for sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Focus areas<\/b>: The Partnership focuses its activities on three strategic areas: Sustainable Development – Climate Change – Food and Energy Security<\/span><\/p>\n
