What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Union Cabinet has approved the Centrally Sponsored Scheme- Vibrant Villages Programme(VVP) for the Financial Years 2022-23 to 2025-26.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Vibrant Villages Programme(VVP)?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Type: <\/b>Centrally Sponsored Scheme<\/span><\/p>\n

Aim:<\/b> To comprehensively develop \u200b\u200bvillages of blocks on the northern border thus improving the quality of life of people living in these villages.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 This will help in encourage people to stay in their native locations in border areas and reversing the outmigration from these villages adding to improved security of the border.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coverage<\/b>: The scheme will be \u200b\u200bimplemented in Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Ladakh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Key Features:<\/b> Under the scheme, funds will be provided for the development of essential infrastructure and the creation of livelihood opportunities in Districts and Border blocks of these 4 states and 1 UT.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Vibrant Village Action Plans will be created by the district administration with the help of Gram Panchayats.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The scheme will identify and develop the economic drivers based on local natural human and other resources of the border villages.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 It will develop these villages based on the \u201cHub and Spoke Model<\/strong>\u201d through the promotion of social entrepreneurship, empowerment of youth and women through skill development, and leveraging the tourism potential through the promotion of local culture among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

Expected Outcomes of the scheme:<\/b> The key expected outcomes of the scheme are: connectivity with all-weather roads, drinking water, 24×7 electricity \u2013 solar and wind energy to be given <\/span>focused attention, mobile and internet connectivity, tourist centres, multi-purpose centres and health and wellness centres.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
