What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

DHARA, the annual meeting of the members of the River Cities Alliance(RCA) has been concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is DHARA?<\/b><\/h2>\n

DHARA stands for Driving Holistic Action for Urban Rivers.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is an annual meeting of the members of the River Cities Alliance(RCA).<\/span><\/p>\n

It is being organized by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) in association with the National Institute of Urban Affairs(NIUA).<\/span><\/p>\n

What is River Cities Alliance(RCA)?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Launched in:<\/b> 2021<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose<\/b>: It is a dedicated platform for river cities to ideate, discuss and exchange information for sustainable management of urban rivers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Implementation<\/b>: It is being implemented by a partnership of the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs<\/span><\/p>\n

Members:<\/b> The alliance was started with 30 cities in 2021 and currently has 95 cities as members across India.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 <\/span>Note<\/b>: It includes cities from both the Ganga basin and non-Ganga basin states.<\/span><\/p>\n

Themes:<\/b> The <\/span>alliance focuses on three broad themes-Networking, Capacity Building and Technical Support.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
