What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Telecom <\/span>Regulatory <\/span>Authority <\/span>of <\/span>India<\/span>(TRAI) has <\/span>released <\/span>its <\/span>recommendations on <\/span>“<\/span>Rating of Buildings or Areas for Digital Connectivity<\/i><\/b>“.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the purpose of these recommendations?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The <\/span>emphasis <\/span>of <\/span>these <\/span>recommendations <\/span>is <\/span>on providing a framework for the creation of an ecosystem for Digital Connectivity Infrastructure(DCI) to be an intrinsic part of building development plans similar to other building services such as water, electricity or Fire Safety Systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the key recommendations given by TRAI?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Firstly, Digital Connectivity Infrastructure(DCI) <\/b>is to be co-designed and co-created along with building development <\/span>through <\/span>collaborations <\/span>among various <\/span>stakeholders including Property Managers (owner or developer or builder), service providers, <\/span>infrastructure providers,<\/span> DCI Professionals and authorities at various urban\/local bodies<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 This will open job opportunities for young professionals to become DCI Professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly, <\/b>a new chapter on \u2018<\/span>Digital Connectivity Infrastructures in Buildings<\/b>\u2019 should be included in Model Building Bye Laws 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thirdly,<\/b> develop a framework for<\/span> Rating of the buildings for digital connectivity, <\/b>which will add value to the property.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
