{"id":229419,"date":"2023-03-02T18:58:15","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T13:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=229419"},"modified":"2023-03-02T18:58:15","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T13:28:15","slug":"constitution-of-greater-panna-landscape-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/constitution-of-greater-panna-landscape-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Constitution of Greater Panna Landscape Council"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201c<\/b><b>Constitution of Greater Panna Landscape Council<\/b><b>\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in<\/span><b> PIB on 2nd March 2023.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Government of India has constituted <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greater Panna Landscape Council(GPLC) under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Govt of Madhya Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Why was the Greater<\/b><b> Panna Landscape Council(GPLC) constituted?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ken-betwa-link-project-benefits-and-challenges-explained-pointwise\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ken-Betwa Link Project (KBLP) <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the first <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">interlinking of rivers project under the National Perspective Plan(NPP).\u00a0 It would be a game-changer for the socio-economic prosperity of the Bundelkhand region, which faces recurrent drought situations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of this project, the Wildlife Institute of India(WII) has prepared a comprehensive Integrated Landscape Management Plan(ILMP) for the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity not only in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/panna-tiger-reserveptr\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Panna Tiger Reserve(PTR)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but also in surrounding areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure systematic and time-bound implementation of ILMP, the Greater Panna Landscape Council(GPLC) has been constituted.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the aim of the Greater Panna Landscape Council(GPLC)?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure a \u201cwin-win\u201d situation for conservation through integration with the development process based on a balanced approach and considering the diverse stakes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Objectives: 1) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To enable the betterment of habitat, protection, and management for flagship species viz. tiger, vulture, and gharial in the landscape <\/span><b>2) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To consolidate the landscape for overall biodiversity conservation through spatial prioritization and well-being of the forest-dependent communities and<\/span><b> 3) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To provide species-specific and site-specific monitoring strategies under the integrated landscape management in context with a feedback loop and adaptive management options.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cConstitution of Greater Panna Landscape Council\u201d published in PIB on 2nd March 2023.
