The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)\nwas set up in Niti Aayog in 2016. &nbsp;<\/li><li>It aims to promote a culture of\ninnovation and entrepreneurship.&nbsp;It seeks to create institutions and\nprograms that enhance innovation in schools, colleges, and entrepreneurs in\ngeneral.<\/li><li>The\nmission has two core functions: a)&nbsp;Entrepreneurship promotion&nbsp;and\nb) Innovation promotion<\/li><li>Entrepreneur promotion is done\nthrough Self-Employment and Talent Utilization. The Mission supports and\nmentors innovators to become successful entrepreneurs.<\/li><li>For promoting innovation, three\nschemes have been undertaken: a) Atal Tinkering Labs, b) Atal Incubation\nCentres and c) Scale up support to established incubators.<\/li><li>Atal Tinkering Labs are established across\nschools in India. The objective is to a) foster curiosity, creativity and\nimagination among young children; and b) inculcate skills such as design mind\nset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.<\/li><li>Atal Incubation Centre scheme seeks\nto establish new incubation centres to support innovative start-up businesses to\nbecome scalable and sustainable enterprises.<\/li><li>Scale up support to established incubators\nscheme seeks to augment capacity of established incubation centres by providing\nfinancial support.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Union Cabinet has approved continuation of the Atal Innovation Mission.
