{"id":2359,"date":"2017-06-18T19:53:42","date_gmt":"2017-06-18T14:23:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=2359"},"modified":"2017-06-19T20:43:56","modified_gmt":"2017-06-19T15:13:56","slug":"ministry-of-statistics-and-programme-implementation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ministry-of-statistics-and-programme-implementation\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation<\/strong>came\u00a0into existence as an <strong>Independent Ministry<\/strong> in <strong>1999<\/strong> after the <strong>merger<\/strong> of the <strong>Department of Statistics<\/strong> and the <strong>Department of Programme Implementation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Ministry has <strong>two wings<\/strong>, one relating to Statistics and the other Programme Implementation.<\/li>\n<li>The Statistics Wing is called the <strong>National Statistical Office (NSO).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It consists of the <strong>Central Statistical Office<\/strong> (CSO), the <strong>Computer centre<\/strong> and the <strong>National Sample Survey Office<\/strong> (NSSO).<\/li>\n<li>The Programme Implementation Wing has <strong>three divisions<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<li>(i) Twenty Point Programme (ii) Infrastructure Monitoring and Project Monitoring and (iii) Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme.<\/li>\n<li>Besides these two wings, there is<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Statistical Commission<\/strong> which is created through a Resolution of Government of India (MOSPI) and,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Indian Statistical Institute<\/strong> which is an autonomous body was declared as an institute of National importance by an Act of Parliament.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The statistics based released by the Ministry are based on administrative sources, surveys and censuses conducted by the Central and State Governments and non-official sources and studies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementationcame\u00a0into existence as an Independent Ministry in 1999 after the merger of the Department of Statistics and the Department of Programme Implementation.
