{"id":239688,"date":"2023-04-26T20:01:43","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T14:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=239688"},"modified":"2023-04-27T16:54:04","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T11:24:04","slug":"operationalise-safe-city-project-by-august-lg-to-delhi-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/operationalise-safe-city-project-by-august-lg-to-delhi-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Operationalise Safe City Project by August: LG to Delhi Police"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201cOperationalise Safe City Project by August: LG to Delhi Police\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in <\/span><b>The Hindu <\/b>on <b>25th April 2023<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Delhi will soon have a seamless network of sensors implemented as part of the first phase of the Safe City Project.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the Safe City Project?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Safe City Project is an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development under the Nirbhaya Fund.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To create a safe, secure, and empowering environment for women and girls in public spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Cities covered:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The project is being implemented in eight metro cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Bengaluru.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Under the project, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CCTV cameras will be installed, along with a command-and-control center with facilities for video analytics, AI, machine learning, and facial recognition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Funded by:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The cost of the projects is shared in a 60:40 ratio between the Central government and State concerned.
