The CBI has said that they are using foreign funds to encourage litigation that will stall existing and prospective coal-fired plants in India.<\/p>\n<h2>About India&#8217;s climate ambitions<\/h2>\n<p>As a signatory to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and various key agreements, India has undertaken initiatives to gradually reduce reliance on fossil fuel sources and become \u2018net zero\u2019 by 2070.<\/p>\n<p>India has consistently endorsed reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that mentions the urgency of ensuring global temperatures do not exceed 1.5\u00b0C of pre-industrial times.
