What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Union Home and Cooperation Minister has launched the world\u2019s first liquid Nano DAP.<\/span><\/p>\n

Note:<\/b> Nano DAP is the second such variant of fertilizer. Nano Urea was the first one in this series.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Nano DAP?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Nano DAP is a unique liquid fertilizer product that contains nanoparticles of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a source of nitrogen and phosphorus \u2013 2 key primary nutrients essential for the growth of crops.<\/span><\/p>\n

Manufactured by:<\/b> Nano-DAP is jointly manufactured by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) in association with a private player Coromandel.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The manufacturing units of Nano DAP have been established in Kalol, Gujarat and Paradeep, Odisha by IFFCO which has patents of both the Nano variant of liquid fertilisers.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the expected benefits of Nano DAP?<\/b><\/h2>\n

DAP is the second most consumed fertilizer in the country after urea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Out of the estimated annual consumption of around 10-12.5 million tonnes, local production is around 4-5 million tonnes, while the rest has to be imported.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nano-DAP will help to bring down India\u2019s fertilizer import bill.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also expected to contribute to bringing down the annual subsidy on non-urea fertilizers.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will also help farmers reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers, thus enhancing the quality and quantity of their produce.Reduced production cost and increased output will greatly boost the annual income of Indian farmers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
