{"id":240753,"date":"2023-05-03T19:32:49","date_gmt":"2023-05-03T14:02:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=240753"},"modified":"2023-05-03T19:32:49","modified_gmt":"2023-05-03T14:02:49","slug":"nmis-2021-22-karnataka-ranked-the-most-innovative-state-in-manufacturing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/nmis-2021-22-karnataka-ranked-the-most-innovative-state-in-manufacturing\/","title":{"rendered":"NMIS 2021-22: Karnataka ranked the most \u2018innovative\u2019 State in manufacturing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201cKarnataka ranked the most \u2018innovative\u2019 State<\/b> <b>in manufacturing\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in <\/span><b>The Hindu <\/b>on <b>2nd May 2023<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Manufacturing Innovation Survey (NMIS) 2021-22 has been released.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the National Manufacturing Innovation Survey (NMIS) 2021-22?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Conducted by: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To evaluate the innovation performance of manufacturing firms in India<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What are the key findings of the NMIS 2021-22?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Innovative state: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Karnataka is the most \u201cinnovative\u201d State followed by Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu (DNH&amp;DD), Telangana and Tamil Nadu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Innovative firms<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu had the highest share of innovative firms while Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand reported the lowest share of such firms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Innovation products made by firms: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly three-fourths of the firms surveyed with most of them micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) neither made any innovative product nor business process innovation during the survey period of financial years 2017-2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 However, nearly 80% of the firms that did report significant gains such as expanding markets and reducing production costs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Barriers to innovation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most frequent \u201cbarriers to innovation\u201d were the lack of internal funds, high innovation costs, and lack of financing from external sources.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu (DNH&amp;DD) reported the highest frequencies of barriers to innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cKarnataka ranked the most \u2018innovative\u2019 State in manufacturing\u201d published in The Hindu on 2nd May 2023 What is the News?
