{"id":241905,"date":"2023-05-11T20:04:32","date_gmt":"2023-05-11T14:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=241905"},"modified":"2023-05-11T20:04:32","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T14:34:32","slug":"union-minister-launches-harit-sagar-the-green-port-guidelines-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/union-minister-launches-harit-sagar-the-green-port-guidelines-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Union Minister launches \u2018Harit Sagar\u2019 the Green Port Guidelines 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the articl<\/span>e<b> \u201c<\/b><b>Union Minister launches \u2018Harit Sagar\u2019 the Green Port Guidelines 2023<\/b><b>\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published i<\/span>n<b> PIB <\/b>on<b> 11th May 2023<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Union Minister of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ports, Shipping &amp; Waterways has launched \u2018Harit Sagar\u2019 the Green Port Guidelines.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is Harit Sagar?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harit Sagar are guidelines released with the aim to achieve Green Ports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Objective: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The guidelines <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">envisage ecosystem dynamics in port development, operation and maintenance while aligning with the \u2019Working with Nature\u2019 concept and minimizing the impact on biotic components of the harbour ecosystem.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Features of the guidelines:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The guidelines lays emphasis on use of Clean \/ Green energy in Port operation, developing Port capabilities for storage, handling and bunkering of Greener Fuels viz. Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Green Methanol \/ Ethanol etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 It also provides a framework for the Major Ports for drawing out a comprehensive action plan for achieving targeted outcomes in terms of quantified reduction in carbon emission over defined timelines, through focused implementation and close monitoring of Green Initiatives and to achieve Sustainable Development Goals(SDG).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Main Goals: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The guidelines&#8217; main goals are to reduce trash through the four R&#8217;s: Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle in order to achieve zero waste discharge from port operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Additionally, it includes provisions for adopting the international Green Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard and covers parts of the National Green Hydrogen Mission related to ports, the creation of green hydrogen facilities, LNG bunkering, offshore wind energy, etc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cUnion Minister launches \u2018Harit Sagar\u2019 the Green Port Guidelines 2023\u201d published in PIB on 11th May 2023 What is the News?
