What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Taliban Government has <\/span>recalled the current Afghan Ambassador to India and appointed a new ambassador.<\/span><\/p>\n

This has presented a complex situation for India’s foreign policy on the Afghanistan situation and its engagement with the Taliban.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is India\u2019s stand on the Taliban Government in Afghanistan?<\/b><\/h2>\n

India, similar to many other countries, does not acknowledge the Taliban government. However, in 2022, the Indian government established a “technical mission” in Kabul.<\/span><\/p>\n

If India accepts the Taliban’s wish to replace the Afghan Ambassador, it could indicate a formalization of its ties with the insurgent group.<\/span><\/p>\n

But India <\/span>rejecting the Taliban regime\u2019s appointment could see repercussions for India\u2019s \u201ctechnical mission\u201d in Kabul.<\/span><\/p>\n

Which countries accepted the Taliban\u2019s appointments?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Most countries where Afghanistan ran missions have refused to accede to the Taliban appointments.<\/span><\/p>\n
