In 2016, he graduated with a B Tech degree from Delhi Technological University<\/strong>. Following that, he pursued an MBA at the esteemed IIM Calcutta. After completing his MBA<\/strong>, he gained experience as a management consultant and worked in various roles in the field of investment banking at multiple companies.<\/p>\n

He also worked as Naib Tehsildar in Tohana of Fatehabad district in Haryana<\/strong>. Thereafter, he was serving Delhi Govt as Sub Divisional Magistrate(<\/strong>SDM). Consequently, in UPSC CSE<\/strong> 2022, he bagged AIR-12 and now he is all set to become IAS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Abhinav says he realized that a corporate job is not something that he sees himself doing for the next 30-35 years. He says, \u201cI wanted to touch people\u2019s lives and bring about a change, which is why I decided to pursue Civil Services, so I quit my job to prepare for UPSC<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to Abhinav, \u201csafe distance\u201d from social media<\/strong> was a crucial factor in his success.<\/p>\n

“Aspiring candidates should dedicate their utmost effort and commitment to their preparation. Initial failures in their first attempts should be viewed as temporary obstacles, and they should not be discouraged by them,” he advised.<\/p>\n

For answer writing in UPSC CSE Mains<\/strong>, Abhinav claimed that it is important to have knowledge of the topic to reproduce the same on the answer script, adding examples, and current affairs give an edge to the\u00a0UPSC CSE Mains<\/strong> answers.\u00a0When asked about C-SAT<\/strong> examination preparation, Abhinav said \u201cpractice, comprehension, clarity of the topics, and quantitive\u00a0aptitude were his first priority.\u201d<\/p>\n

To clear his doubts, Abhinav referred to the previous year\u2019s topper strategies, read their blogs, and made topics and sub-topics.<\/p>\n

Although Abhinav had an engineering background, he opted for Sociology<\/strong> as his optional subject<\/strong> of choice. His enduring fascination with the discipline, along with the abundant study materials and support available at home, motivated him to follow this path. In his second attempt, he achieved a score of 213 in Sociology as his optional subject, which significantly improved to 292 in his third UPSC<\/strong> attempt.<\/p>\n

Abhinav shared, \u201cI created my own study notes and studied the answer patterns of previous year’s toppers, always mindful of aligning my responses with the requirements of the questions and the UPSC examination<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n
