{"id":247359,"date":"2023-06-10T20:22:36","date_gmt":"2023-06-10T14:52:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=247359"},"modified":"2023-06-10T20:22:36","modified_gmt":"2023-06-10T14:52:36","slug":"ministry-of-ports-shipping-and-waterways-launches-sagar-samriddhi-to-bring-transparency-efficiency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ministry-of-ports-shipping-and-waterways-launches-sagar-samriddhi-to-bring-transparency-efficiency\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways launches \u2018SAGAR SAMRIDDHI\u2019 to bring transparency &#038; efficiency"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source:\u00a0<\/b>The post is based on the article <b>\u201cMinistry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways launches \u2018SAGAR SAMRIDDHI\u2019 to bring transparency &amp; efficiency\u201d<\/b> published in\u00a0the <b>PIB <\/b>on\u00a0<strong>9th\u00a0 <\/strong><b>June <\/b><b>2023<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"What_is_the_News\">What is the News?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Union Minister of Ports, Shipping &amp; Waterways (MoPSW) launched \u2018SAGAR SAMRIDDHI\u2019.<\/p>\n<h2>What is SAGAR SAMRIDDHI?<\/h2>\n<p>It is the online dredging monitoring system to accelerate \u2018Waste to Wealth\u2019 initiative of the Ministry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Developed by<\/strong>: National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC) the technological arm of MoPSW.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key features<\/strong>: The new technology brings in marked improvement against the old system of Draft &amp; Loading Monitor (DLM) system.<\/p>\n<p>The system will bring in synergy among multiple input reports like daily dredging reports, the pre and post-dredging survey data before processing and producing real-time dredging reports.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Sagar Samriddhi\u2019 monitoring system will also allow Daily and monthly progress Visualisation, Dredger performance and downtime monitoring, easy location track data with snapshots of loading, unloading and idle time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Significance<\/strong>: Major Ports would be able to utilise the Online Dredging Monitoring System. By using that they can bring significant change in project implementation and bring down the cost of dredging through use of the dredged materials.<\/p>\n<p>This will help in environment sustainability and will bring down the operational costs of the ports, bringing in more transparency and efficiency.
