{"id":248403,"date":"2023-06-17T19:49:08","date_gmt":"2023-06-17T14:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=248403"},"modified":"2023-06-17T19:49:08","modified_gmt":"2023-06-17T14:19:08","slug":"common-assessment-system-mooted-for-all-defence-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/common-assessment-system-mooted-for-all-defence-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"Common assessment system mooted for all defence officers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source:\u00a0<\/b>The post is based on the article<b> \u201cCommon assessment system mooted for all defence officers\u201d<\/b>\u00a0published in<b> The Hindu <\/b>on\u00a0<b>17th June 2023<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"What_is_the_News\"><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As India is working on creating integrated theatre commands, a common Annual Confidential Report (ACR) for all defence officers has been mooted.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>About the common Annual Confidential Report (ACR) <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Need<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>-Presently, for postings in combined or tri-services appointments, the selection system is based on parent service-specific parameters.<\/p>\n<p>-Over a period of time, employment of officers in tri-service organisations and environment will increase as the armed forces move towards joint structures and organisations.<\/p>\n<p>So, there is a need to synergise the appraisal system for undertaking the tasks in tri-service\u00a0 or combined appointments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Implementation<\/strong>: Initially, a common ACR for two- and three-star officers of armed forces has been approved to be implemented.
