The Gandhi Peace Prize for the year 2021 is being conferred on Gita Press, Gorakhpur.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Gandhi Peace Prize?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Gandhi Peace Prize is an annual award instituted by the Government of India in 1995 on the occasion of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as a tribute to the ideals espoused by Mahatma Gandhi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The award is open to all persons regardless of nationality, race, language, caste, creed or gender.<\/span><\/p>\n

The award carries an amount of Rs. 1 crore, a citation, a plaque and an exquisite traditional handicraft\/handloom item.<\/span><\/p>\n

The jury which decides the awardee of the Gandhi Peace Prize comprises the Prime Minister of India, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, the Chief Justice of India, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and one other eminent person.<\/span><\/p>\n
