Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has released the Global Liveability Index 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Global Liveability Index?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Global Liveability Index quantifies the challenges presented to an individual\u2019s lifestyle in 173 cities worldwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The index ranked the cities based on these <\/span>five metrics: healthcare, culture, environment, education, and stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

This ranking offers insights into the cities that excel in providing an exceptional quality of life.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the key rankings of the <\/b>Global Liveability Index 2023?<\/b><\/h2>\n

T<\/b>op Liveable cities: <\/b>Vienna (Austria), Copenhagen (Denmark), Melbourne and Sydney (Australia).<\/span><\/p>\n

Bottom 3 Liveable cities:<\/b> Algiers (Algeria), Tripoli (Libya) and Damascus (Syria).<\/span><\/p>\n

From India,<\/b> New Delhi and Mumbai are at 141st position and Chennai at 144th. Ahmedabad and Bengaluru are ranked 147 and 148.<\/span><\/p>\n

Observations made by the index: <\/b>Attempts to restore normalcy after the Covid-19 pandemic and the \u201cincremental improvements in liveability made by many developing countries\u201d have been the biggest drivers of changes in its global liveability rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Those in <\/span>Western Europe,<\/b> in particular, have slipped in rankings due to increased instances of workers\u2019 strikes failing to \u201cmatch gains\u201d made by cities in Asia and the Middle East.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The cities which are plagued by ongoing civil unrest and military conflicts, amongst other issues, remained at the bottom of the list.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
