The bulk of the course would include i<strong>nteractive sessions, practical, clinical experience, and case studies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It calls for a<strong> family adoption program through village outreach<\/strong>, for each MBBS student, and a <strong>\u2018pandemic module\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It has advocated for the <strong>reduction of the overall time period<\/strong> for students to complete the MBBS course to nine years, <strong>fixed number of attempts<\/strong> to clear papers, and <strong>common counselling<\/strong> for admission from 2024.<\/p>\n<p>If a student failed to clear any exam, she could have appeared in the<strong> supplementary examination<\/strong>. The students, if successful, could have proceeded with the same batch.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What is the necessity of a new GMER?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The new regulations aimed at making medical education more <strong>learner-centric, patient-centric, gender-sensitive, outcome-oriented and environment-appropriate. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The GMER was notified in 1997.
