What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Union Minister for Communications has launched <\/span>Bharat 6G Alliance. It will work towards setting up the 6G network in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Bharat 6G Alliance?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) is <\/span>a collaborative platform consisting of public and private companies, academia, research institutions, and standards development organizations<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Objectives of the alliance:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2013 To <\/span>understand the business and societal needs of 6G beyond technical requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

–Foster consensus on the needs, and promote high-impact open research and development (R&D) initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 To bring together Indian startups, companies, and the manufacturing ecosystem to drive the design, development, and deployment of 6G technologies in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 To facilitate market access for Indian telecom technology products and services, enabling the country to emerge as a global leader in 6G technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Government aims for 10 per cent of 6G patents by 2030.<\/p>\n

What is Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF)?<\/b><\/p>\n

Launched in: <\/b>2022<\/p>\n

Aim: <\/b>To <\/span>fund R&D in rural-specific communication technology applications and form synergies among academia, start-ups, research institutes, and the industry to build and develop the telecom ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 To promote technology ownership and indigenous manufacturing, create a culture of technology co-innovation, reduce imports, boost export opportunities, and create Intellectual Property.<\/span><\/p>\n

Funding<\/b>: 5<\/span>% of annual collections from the <\/span>Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF)<\/span> will be available for the TTDF Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Digital Communication Innovation Square(DCIS) Initiative?<\/b><\/h2>\n

\u200b\u200bDigital Communication Innovation Square initiative was launched under the<\/span> Champion Services Sector Scheme.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Aim:<\/b> To foster an ecosystem of indigenously developed telecom equipment, in a bid to reduce reliance on imported equipment and technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the initiative,<\/b> startups will get a grant of Rs 50 lakhs, while MSMEs will get a grant of Rs 2 crore, and a consortium will get a grant of Rs 10 crore. Financial support will be provided to those projects and ideas that have reached at least the proof of concept level.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The initiative will also provide the selected startups and MSMEs mentorships, incubation, and technical advisory support during the project.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
