There has been <strong>an accelerated large-scale concretisation <\/strong>of the city.<\/p>\n<p>Delhi makes a case that <strong>huge amounts of silt due to riverbed mining from Haryana<\/strong> block the natural flow of the river.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What is the way forward?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Delhi should no longer consider itself immune from urban flooding given that its population and infrastructural needs are only going to expand.<\/p>\n<p>The Air Pollution<strong> joint management strategy evolved by<\/strong> National Capital Territory can act as a model for flood management.<\/p>\n<p>These States <strong>must set aside their differences<\/strong> and evolve a joint strategy on countering future floods<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source&#8211; The post is based on the article \u201cFlood feud\u201d published in \u201cThe Hindu\u201d on 17th July 2023.
