Hanuman is depicted carrying the Sanjivani hill in his right hand symbolizing his mission to save Lakshmana\u2019s life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The third cave<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> houses the prehistoric rock paintings from the Mesolithic era. The Kakatiya artist chose the same rock shelter to superimpose the elegant figure of Hanuman who is portrayed in a unique \u2018Anjali\u2019 posture, folding his hands in a divine offering.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the <\/b><b>Rudragiri Hillock connection with Telangana?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is a striking resemblance between the splendid frescoes on Rudragiri\u2019s rock shelters and those discovered in Muppavaram and Pandavula Gutta in Warangal district of Telangana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These similarities suggest that the Ramayana scenes depicted at Rudragiri might have drawn inspiration from the artworks at Muppavaram.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, the <\/span><b>Ganapati Deva <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1199-1262 AD), the founder of Muppavaram temple and a prominent figure of the <\/span><b>Kakatiya dynast<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">y likely patronized the rich ancient mural heritage found at Rudragiri.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cA fascinating fusion of rock art at Rudragiri hillock\u201d\u00a0 published in The Hindu on 19th July 2023 What is the News?
