It has been designed w<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ith the help of IIT Bombay.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Purpose of the tool:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">assess the integrated impact of various green energy policies of the Government of India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 To analyze emissions, cost, land and water requirements of India till 2047 by assessing the demand and supply of energy in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tool will be updated on a <\/span><b>yearly basis.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Significance of IESS tool: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is user-friendly interactive tool that can help ministries\/ departments to develop a variety of energy transition scenarios to achieve net-zero.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 The tool is also flexible enough to provide many permutations and combinations of net-zero pathways.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 It can also help in computing the energy needs and estimates of the country and hence reduce India\u2019s dependency on external agencies for the estimates.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cNITI Aayog releases Analytical Tools for managing Climate Change and exploring Net Zero Pathways\u201d\u00a0 published in PIB on 20th July 2023.
