What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Supreme Court has asked the Union government why the recent deaths of Cheetah\u2019s was becoming a \u201cprestige issue\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It also asked why the cheetahs were all released in Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, and not spread out across sites.<\/span><\/p>\n

What has happened to Cheetahs?<\/b><\/h2>\n

20 <\/span>cheetahs were translocated to Kuno National Park in India from Namibia and South Africa as part of efforts to revive the cheetah population in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

Later, four cubs were born to one of the Cheetah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among these 24 cheetah\u2019s, eight cheetahs have died which includes three cubs born in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

What did the Supreme Court say on Cheetah\u2019s deaths?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Supreme Court has said that <\/span>the deaths of 40% of the 20 cheetahs brought from South Africa and Namibia to the Kuno National Park (KNP) within a year does not present a good picture.<\/span><\/p>\n
