As per the findings of research, the investment made by the government and technological assistance, increased productivity in US counties that already had relevant technology capabilities.<\/p>\n

Can these two models be adopted for green transition?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A common objective in both the models was the need to accomplish a massive task under time pressure, requiring a substantial push, which is also required for green transition.<\/p>\n

However, the government was the sole user of the new technology in both the models. Whereas the green transition requires a much broader adoption of new technologies across society, involving firms, cities, and citizens.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This presents challenges on both the demand and supply sides.<\/p>\n
