What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Supreme Court has issued several directions to guard court complexes across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

These directions were issued <\/span>due to recent incidents of firing inside court complexes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the directions issued by the Supreme court to guard court complexes?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Security Plan:<\/b> The Supreme Court has asked the High Courts to prepare \u201csecurity plans\u201d in consultation with the Principal Home Secretaries, Directors-General of Police and Police Commissioners to protect the courts.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The security plan may include a proposal for setting up of <\/span>permanent court security unit(s)<\/b> in each complex.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The security plan should indicate the strength and source of manpower for these security units, including armed and unarmed personnel and supervisory officers for each unit, the minimum term and mode of deployment of manpower, their list of duties and additional financial benefits, special modules for training and sensitizing personnel in matters of court security and so on.<\/span><\/p>\n

CCTV Cameras:<\/b> The court has <\/span>also directed the high courts to indicate what steps have been put in place to install CCTV cameras, where they are absent, for security within court premises.<\/span><\/p>\n

Digitisation of judicial infrastructure: <\/b>The court has also stressed on the need for digitisation of judicial infrastructure, particularly at the district level.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
