It can undermine the i<strong>ntended goal of the policy.<\/strong> This situation might strengthen the <strong>existing ties <\/strong>between pharmaceutical firms and pharmacy networks.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>subpar monitoring standards<\/strong> in the pharma sector have contributed to the proliferation of <strong>sub-standard or counterfeit medicines. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Indian Medical Association<\/strong> asserts that only <strong>0.1 percent of medicines<\/strong> undergo <strong>quality checks. <\/strong>The recent scandal involving <strong>contaminated children&#8217;s cough syrups <\/strong>supplied to Africa exemplifies the <strong>lax enforcement of good manufacturing practices. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Experts within the pharmaceutical sector acknowledge that there are <strong>generic drugs <\/strong>available on the market that have not undergone <strong>proper bioequivalence studies<\/strong> to assess their <strong>effectiveness.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Physicians are apprehensive that the <strong>variable quality of generic medications <\/strong>might compromise the <strong>effectiveness<\/strong> of their treatments. It could lead to <strong>reputational damage. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In medical institutions like hospitals and clinics, the risks could multiply if <strong>subpar generic drugs <\/strong>lead to<strong> suboptimal outcomes<\/strong>.
