What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Government is planning skill development training for two crore women under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Lakhpati Didi Scheme?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Aim: <\/b>To <\/span>provide skill development training to<\/span> women<\/span> to encourage them to establish micro-enterprises <\/span>so that they can earn at least Rs 1 lakh annually.<\/span><\/p>\n

Target: <\/b>G<\/span>overnment’s goal is to create two crore “lakhpati didis” (prosperous sisters) in villages through <\/span>women self-help groups(SHGs).<\/span><\/p>\n

Skills covered:<\/b> The <\/span>women would be trained in skills like plumbing, LED bulb making and operating and repairing drones among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Initially w<\/span>omen in around 15,000 self-help groups (SHGs) would be trained to fly and repair drones.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 This training will not only create new avenues for income generation but also equip women with cutting-edge skills.<\/span><\/p>\n
