What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

This article provides information about the <\/span>National Judicial Data Grid.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the National Judicial Data Grid?<\/b><\/h2>\n

National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) is a database of orders, judgments and case details of 18,735 District & Subordinate Courts and High Courts.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was created as an online platform under the eCourts Project.<\/span><\/p>\n

Features:<\/b> Data is updated on the grid on a near real-time basis by the connected District and Taluka courts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The grid provides data relating to judicial proceedings\/decisions of all computerized district and subordinate courts of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Case data is available for both civil and criminal cases with the ability to perform drill-down analysis based on the age of the case as well as the State and District.<\/span><\/p>\n

Significance of the platform: <\/b>NJDG works as a monitoring tool to identify, manage <\/span>and <\/span>\u00a0reduce pendency of cases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 It helps in providing timely inputs for making policy decisions to reduce delays in disposing of cases and helps in reducing case pendency.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 It also facilitates better monitoring of court performance and systemic bottlenecks, and, thus, serves as an efficient resource management tool.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recognition:<\/b> The World Bank has praised the National Judicial Data Grid in the Ease of Doing Business report for 2018.It has said that the grid has made it possible to generate case management reports, thereby making it easier to enforce contracts.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
