The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas has successfully test fired the Astra indigenous Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile.<\/span><\/p>\n

ASTRA is a state-of-the-art <\/span>Beyond Visual Range (BVR) <\/span>air-to-air missile.<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose: <\/b>To engage and destroy highly maneuvering supersonic aerial targets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Developed by: <\/b>Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Research Centre Imarat (RCI) and other laboratories of the DRDO.<\/span><\/p>\n

Features:<\/b> Astra has a range of over 70 km and can fly towards its target at a speed of over 5,555 km per hour. The missile has all-weather day and night capability.<\/span><\/p>\n
