What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd (TRIFED), Ministry of Tribal Affairs is showcasing a wide range of traditional tribal art, artifacts, paintings and many more at the \u2018<\/span>Tribes India\u2019<\/b> pavilion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition is being hosted at the Crafts Bazaar as part of the G-20 Leaders’ Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the tribal arts showcased at the Tribes India pavilion?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Pithora Art: <\/b>It is a ritualistic painting characterized by animated figures and lavish use of color.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 These paintings are done by the Rathwa, Bhilala, Naik and Bhil tribes of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The paintings speak of the social, cultural and mythological life and beliefs of the tribals.The painting are a medium of propitiation, thanksgiving and commemoration of<\/span><\/p>\n

auspicious occasions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Padma Shri awardee Shri Paresh Rathwa is a renowned artist of Pithora art.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the other tribal arts displayed at the Tribes India pavilion?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Gond paintin<\/b>g from Madhya Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saura painting<\/b> by artisans from Odisha.<\/span><\/p>\n

Angora and Pashmina shawls <\/b>from the high altitudes of Leh-Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

The colorful jewellery by the <\/span>Konyak tribes of Nagaland<\/b> appeases the eye.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maheshwari silk sarees from Madhya Pradesh:<\/b> It is worn during religious functions and auspicious events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dhokra jewellery:<\/b> It is carved out of molten metals, beads, colorful glass pieces, and wooden balls.Tribal artisans from West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are the architects of these pieces of intrinsic art.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
