McKinsey’s estimates <\/strong>project that the annual worth of AI <\/strong>could span from $17.1 trillion to $25.6 trillion.<\/p>\n

AI is on a steady upward trajectory. It is showing increasing capabilities, accessible affordability, and broad-ranging applications. <\/strong><\/p>\n

What are the challenges posed by AI?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

AI poses established challenges such as biased models, privacy concerns, and obscured decision-making<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Generative AI carries the potential danger of undermining the integrity of public discourse <\/strong>through the spread of misinformation, disinformation, influence operations, and personalized persuasion tactics.<\/strong> It can erode societal trust.<\/p>\n

In the defense sector, there is a concern that AI unexplained aberrations and unverified analyses<\/strong> could potentially lead to unforeseen and uncontrollable military escalations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The concept of Artificial General Intelligence<\/strong> has been highlighted as a significant concern. <\/strong>There is growing apprehension about the potential for AI system<\/strong>s to become extremely powerful.<\/p>\n

Way forward-<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a need to establish a global consensus<\/strong> on the risks<\/strong> posed by AI. <\/strong>Even a single vulnerability<\/strong> can create opportunities for malicious actors<\/strong> to execute extensive breaches. <\/strong><\/p>\n

It would be wise to establish an international commission <\/strong>dedicated to continuously identifying AI-related risks<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is crucial to formulate a set of standards<\/strong> that should be met by any public AI service. <\/strong><\/p>\n

These standards play a pivotal role<\/strong> in enhancing safety by reducing risks, advancing quality, facilitating private-public collaborations<\/strong>, streamlining operations<\/strong> , and fostering compatibility<\/strong> across different regions.<\/p>\n

There is a need to develop socio-technical standards<\/strong>. It should outline ideals<\/strong> and provide the technical means<\/strong> to achieve them. Since AI is an evolving technology,<\/strong> these standards must be adaptable.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Governments should have a substantial stake <\/strong>in the design, development, and deploymen<\/strong>t of AI. It is currently dominated by a small number of companies.<\/p>\n

There is a need to reimagine models for public-private partnerships.<\/strong> It is required to establish regulatory sandbox zones<\/strong> where experiments aimed at boosting entrepreneurs’ competitive edge<\/strong> are balanced with fair solutions to societal challenges. <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
