{"id":2598,"date":"2017-06-20T15:30:07","date_gmt":"2017-06-20T10:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=2598"},"modified":"2017-06-22T15:32:30","modified_gmt":"2017-06-22T10:02:30","slug":"international-initiatives-to-combat-climate-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/international-initiatives-to-combat-climate-change\/","title":{"rendered":"International Initiatives to Combat Climate Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>1979 \u2014 the first World Climate Conference (WCC) took place.<\/li>\n<li>1988 \u2014 The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was set up<\/li>\n<li>1992- Countries joined an international treaty, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC), as a framework for international cooperation to combat climate change by limiting average global temperature increases and the resulting climate change, and coping with inevitable impacts.<\/li>\n<li>1994 \u2014 UNFCCC entered into force.<\/li>\n<li>1995 \u2014 the first Conference of the Parties (COP 1) took place in Berlin.<\/li>\n<li>1997 \u2014 Kyoto Protocol was formally adopted in December at COP 3.<\/li>\n<li>2001- Bonn Agreement was adopted based on the Buenos Aires Plan of Action of 1998.<\/li>\n<li>2001-\u00a0Marrakesh Accords was adopted at COP 7, detailing rules for implementation of Kyoto Protocol, setting up new funding and planning instruments for adaptation, and establishing a technology transfer framework.<\/li>\n<li>2005- Kyoto Protocol came into force.
