{"id":260941,"date":"2023-09-20T20:25:35","date_gmt":"2023-09-20T14:55:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=260941"},"modified":"2023-10-08T08:16:05","modified_gmt":"2023-10-08T02:46:05","slug":"national-workshop-on-e-nam-2-0-and-agri-marketing-reforms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/national-workshop-on-e-nam-2-0-and-agri-marketing-reforms\/","title":{"rendered":"National Workshop on e-NAM 2.0 and Agri Marketing Reforms"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201c<\/b><b>National Workshop on e-NAM 2.0 and Agri Marketing Reforms<\/b><b>\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0published in <\/span><b>PIB on 19th September 2023<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Agriculture has organized a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">day-long workshop on \u201ce-NAM 2.0 and agriculture marketing reforms\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is <\/b><b>e-NAM?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) is a pan-India electronic trading portal launched in 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The platform connects the current Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) mandis to form a unified national market for agricultural commodities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The portal is managed by \u201cSmall Farmers\u2019 Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC)\u201d, under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At present, 1,361 regulated mandis in 23 states and four Union Territories are linked with the electronic National Agriculture Market (eNAM).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>e-NAM has been able to bring competence in APMC mandi operations via: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) technology interventions 2) accuracy in weighment via digital weighbridge and weighing scale 3) real-time online information on commodity prices 4) access to more buyers\/sellers and transparency in trade (due to on-line mode of auction) resulting in competitive bidding and there by better price discovery 5) transparency in payment via multiple online payment modes and 6) better efficiency in overall mandi operations via digitalization.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>How will e-NAM 2.0 be different from current e-NAM?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e-NAM 2.0 will be an advanced version of existing e-NAM wherein the reforms in the State Acts will be very important in the success of e-NAM 2.0.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cNational Workshop on e-NAM 2.0 and Agri Marketing Reforms\u201d \u00a0published in PIB on 19th September 2023 What is the News?
