Scientists have discovered a new fish species from the Milak river, Nagaland.It has been named as <\/span>Badis limaakumi.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Badis limaakumi<\/span> is a freshwater fish<\/span> that <\/span>belongs to the <\/span>Badidae family.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fish is commonly found in streams with slow or moderate water flow, in ditches and stagnant water bodies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fish is found in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand and Myanmar.<\/span><\/p>\n

This new species of fish differs from other members of its family due to distinctive features<\/span>, such as <\/span>a dark opercular blotch <\/span>at the base of its <\/span>opercular spine and the absence of spots on its sides and cleithrum.<\/span><\/p>\n
